Obituary: Lucinda Rosa DeJesus Dies at 94

Was born in Portugual and now will be buried in Portugal.

NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Lucinda Rosa DeJesus, age 94, of Naugatuck, died Monday April 16, 2012 died at the St. Mary's Hospital VITAS Hospice Unit. She was the widow of Armindo Oliveira Costa.

Mrs. DeJesus was born in Cucujaes, O. Azemeis, Portugal on January 30, 1918 a daughter of the late Manuel Dias Silva and the late Margarida Rosa DeJesus. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Waterbury.

Mrs. DeJesus is survived by a daughter, Maria Margarida Almeida and her husband Alirio of Naugatuck, a son, Manuel Costa and his wife Francelina of Naugatuck a daughter in law, Adelaide Costa of Naugatuck, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Albert Costa, four sisters, one brother and a grandchild.

Mrs. DeJesus' family would like to thank the staff of the VITAS Hospice Unit at St. Mary's Hospital for the exceptional and compassionate care that they provided.

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday April 18, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church 2071 Baldwin St. Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to please meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Cucujaes Cemetery in Cucujaes, Portugal. There are no calling hours. The Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home 82 Fairview Ave. Naugatuck is in charge of arrangements.
