Obituary: Margaret Theresa (Fitzgerald) Logan, 79, of Naugatuck

She taught in the Newburg, N.Y. and Greenwich, CT School systems, prior to raising her family. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck.

 

NAUGATUCK, CT-  Mrs. Margaret Theresa ( Fitzgerald) Logan, 79, of Naugatuck, passed away at her home Monday morning Nov. 19, 2012.  She was the wife of Edward F. Logan.

Mrs. Logan was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., Dec. 10, 1932, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Mulkern) Fitzgerald  and had been a Naugatuck resident for the past 15 years, moving here from Port Chester, N.Y.  She was educated in the Mt. Kisco school system and was a graduate of Mt.. Kisco High School. She was also a graduate of New Paltz Teachers College.  Following graduation she taught in the Newburg, N.Y. and Greenwich, CT School systems, prior to raising her family.  She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Naugatuck. 

Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves 3 daughters, Debra A. Logan, Laurie A. Logan and Kelly F. Coddington all of Naugatuck; 2 sisters, Beatrice Roach of Wallkill,  N.Y. and Mary Roach of Mt. Kisco, N.Y.; 4 grandchildren, Lauren Kaloidis and her husband Vasi of Waterbury, Tara Lyons, Sean Lyons and Judith Coddington all of Naugatuck.  She was predeceased by a daughter, Judith M. Logan and a sister, Eileen Adams.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday Nov. 24, 2012 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 260 Westchester Ave., Port Chester, N.Y  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 High St., Rye Brook, N.Y. 10573. Local calling hours will be on Wednesday Nov. 21, 2012 at the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. from 6 to 8 p.m. Calling hours in Port Chester, N.Y. will be on Friday Nov. 23, 2012,  from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Craft Memorial Home, 40 Leicester St., Port Chester, N.Y. 10573. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.
