Obituary: Mary (Lambert) Wilson Dies at 93

NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Mary (Lambert) Wilson, 93, of Naugatuck, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2012 at Glendale Health Center. She was the widow of Francis Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Naugatuck on October 14, 1918, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Murray) Lambert. She was a lifelong Naugatuck resident, graduated from Naugatuck Schools and worked for the payroll department at Uniroyal, Inc. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of St. Vincent Ferrer Church, the Altar Society of St. Mary’s Church, AARP, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Mary was an avid UCONN basketball fan. She leaves her brother, George Daley of Plainville; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Wilson and his wife Courtney of Bristol, Anne Doersch and her husband Craig of Sandy Hook, and James Wilson of Naugatuck; five great-grandchildren, Connor and Kyle Wilson, Sofia, Olivia, and William Doersch; and a niece Joan Calvert of Middlefield. She was predeceased by her son, Joseph Murray Wilson; a sister, Joan Lambert Calvert; her brothers, Joseph Lambert, Rev. James Oliver Joseph Lambert, and William Matulionis.

The family would like to thank the staff of Glendale for the outstanding care given to Mary during her time there. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 24, at 10 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck to St. Mary Church, 338 North Main Street, Naugatuck for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck at the family’s convenience.
