Memorial Service Today for Young Naugatuck Native

Matt was known for his huge heart, as well as his love of life.

Note: A memorial service for Matt Emma will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at Union City Little League.

Matthew P. Emma, 28, passed away Saturday July 27, 2013 in Austin, Texas.

Matthew was born Feb. 6, 1985 in Stamford, the son of Paul and Pamela J. Emma.  He was born and raised in Connecticut, having lived most of his life in Naugatuck, before moving to Texas two years ago. He was a 2004 graduate of Terryville High School.  He was known for his huge heart, as well as his love of life and a smile that lit up a room. Matthew loved sports and grew up playing baseball and basketball. He was an avid NY Yankee fan, along with the Giants, Knicks, UConn Huskies and Notre Dame.

Besides his father Paul and step-mother Linda Emma of Torrington and his mother Pamela J. Emma of Chicopee, MA, Matthew is survived by his sister Meghan J. Dolan and her husband Jared of Hudson Falls, NY; his Paternal Grandparents Lena Emma; his Maternal grandmother Joyce E. Gray; his nephews Conner James Dolan and Aidan Michael Dolan; two step-brothers Craig and Justin; and several aunts and uncles and family members including Beverly McGeever and her family.  Matthew is predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather Donald I. Gray and Paternal Grandfather Ross A. Emma.

Arrangements –Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. at Union City Little League, 165 Morris St., Naugatuck, Conn.
