Obituary: Nancy M. Freeman Dies at 54

The following obituary was provided by Naugatuck Valley Memorial Funeral Home.

NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Nancy M. (Thompson) Freeman, 54, of Maple Hill Road, Naugatuck, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Beacon Brook Health Center after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was the wife of Ronald W. Freeman.

Mrs. Freeman was born in Bridgeport on February 5, 1958, a daughter of Beatrice F. (Faria) Thompson of Fairfield and the late Walter F. Thompson. She was a Naugatuck resident since 1980. She volunteered for the American Cancer Society and was a communicant of . Nancy enjoyed making ceramic arts, collecting Betty Boop memorabilia, and had a huge love for animals. She also loved the outdoors and many summers at the beach.

Besides her husband and mother, she leaves a son, Jason Freeman of Naugatuck; a daughter, Christine Cummings and her husband Christopher of Naugatuck; two grandchildren, Brendan and Julia Cummings; brother in law and sister in law Gerald and Bernice Freeman of Monroe; brother in law and sister in law Alan and Patricia Reynard of Glastonbury; brother in law Robert Freeman of Bridgeport; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Kevin Thompson. Nancy’s family would like to thank Beacon Brook Health Center and all who cared for her over the past year.
