Obituary: Peter Posypanko, 90

Mr. Posypanko was a devout lifelong communicant of Three Saints Orthodox Church, Ansonia, where he was a trustee and served on the Church Council, and was its president for 15 years. He had family in Naugatuck.

Peter Posypanko, 90, a lifelong Oxford resident entered into peaceful rest on October 19, 2012 at his home; he was the beloved husband of the late Isabelle (Sitzer) Posypanko, and also beloved husband of the late Olga (Woytowich) Posypanko. Mr. Posypanko was born in Oxford on January 3, 1922, son of the late Michael and Krystyna (Petreshyn) Posypanko. He was a retired self-employed builder, having built many homes in Oxford, he later was a Realtor with Botti Realty, in Ansonia. Peter was a devout lifelong communicant of Three Saints Orthodox Church, Ansonia where he was a Trustee and served on the Church Council, and was its President for 15 years; Peter additionally served on the Diocesan and Sobor Councils, and FORCC as a member and Treasurer. Mr. Posypanko also served on the Three Saints Cemetery Committee for many years.

Peter leaves his loving family including his daughter, Susan Caetano (Robert) of Woodbridge, grandchildren, Jennifer Gagne (Alan) of Naugatuck, and Michael Caetano of Woodbridge, a great grandson Sean Gagne of Naugatuck, step-daughters, Carol Costine of Seymour, and Cynthia Young (Bill) of Shelton and their children.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia. Calling hours are Wednesday at the church from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Panahida Service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to Three Saints Church Maintenance Trust Fund, 26 Howard Ave., Ansonia, CT 06401. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour is entrusted with the arrangements. To share a memory online please only go towww.hullfh.com.
