Obituary: Richard Massicotte, 64, of Naugatuck

Mr. Massicotte was a U.S. Air Force veteran who loved spending time with his family.

Richard P. Massicotte,Sr., 64, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 at Yale-New Haven Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Katherine (Lieght) Massicotte.

Richard was born on Dec. 15, 1948 in Waterbury a son of the late William Massicotte and Genevieve (Beckeroski) Massicotte of Naugatuck. He was retired from Veolia Water Treatment where he worked as the Plant Operator for many years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and loved spending time with his family.

Besides his wife, Katherine, and his mother, Genevieve, he is survived by his daughter, Katherine T. Massicotte of Waterbury, his son, Richard P. Massicotte Jr. of Naugatuck, one sister, Ann Nelson and her husband Walter of Naugatuck, two brothers, Robert E. Massicotte and his wife Frances of Naugatuck and William J. Massicotte and his wife Angela of Waterbury. He will also be missed by several brothers and sisters in law, cousins, nieces, nephews and Jack and Ann Hayward. 
He was predeceased by one sister, Lois Kielb.

The funeral will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church, 32 Golden Hill Street, Naugatuck. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Friends may call at the Buckmiller Brothers Funeral Home, 26 Waterbury Rd, Rte. 69, Prospect on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m.
