Obituary: Shirley J. Cota, 86, of Seymour

Shirley J. Cota, age 86 of Seymour, entered into peaceful rest March 29, 2013, at Shady Knoll Health Center; she was the beloved wife of Clayton Cota. Mrs. Cota was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Seymour, daughter of the late Leroy and Anna (Crofts) Allen. She retired from the former Risdon Co. in Naugatuck.

Shirley was a member of the Seymour Congregational Church, and the Seymour and Ansonia Senior Centers. Besides her husband, she leaves her loving family including daughters, Corrine Urtel of Seymour, and Darlene Rich (Steven, Sr.) of Woodbridge, a sister, Linda Beaton (George) of Oxford, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Kenneth and Donald Allen, predeceased her. 

Calling Hours are Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour; a Memorial Service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
