Obituary: Theodore Nichols Dove, Jr. Dies at 68

The following obituary was provided by Alderson Funeral Home in Naugatuck.

BETHLEHEM — Mr. Theodore “Ted” Nichols Dove, Jr., 67 of Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday evening Feb. 29, 2012 at the Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Diane (Boguslawski) Dove.

Ted was born in Waterbury, June 12, 1944, a son of the late Theodore N. Dove, Sr. and the late M. Lorraine (Nichols) Dove and was educated in the Naugatuck school system. He was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and from Central Conn. State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He was a resident of Bethlehem since 1970 and was employed as a Design Engineer with Timex, Inc. for over 35 years.

He was active with the Washington Art Association, the Naturalist Studio in Warren, and the St. Andrews Society and was also a member of the Sports Car Club of America.  He was an avid painter in various mediums.

Besides his wife of 39 years, he leaves one daughter, Meghan Dove of Providence, R.I., and nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in the spring at a date to be announced in Bethlehem Cemetery, Bethlehem. There are no calling hours. The Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. is assisting the family with all arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animals for Life, Inc., P.O. 7 South Britain, CT 06487, or the Washington Art Assoc., 4 Bryan Memorial Plaza, Washington Depot, 06794.For further information or to send an email condolence, go to www.aldersonfuneralhomes.com.
