Obituary: Thomas J. Trzaski, Former Beacon Falls Assessor, Dies at 69

The following obituary was provided by Naugatuck Valley Memorial Funeral Home.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Mr. Thomas J. Trzaski, 69, of 455 Sunnehanna Drive, Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Beacon Falls, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at Waccamaw Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Elaine (Hill) Trzaski.

Mr. Trzaski was born in Waterbury on November 16, 1942, a son of the late Joseph J. and Julia (Heller) Trzaski. He was a longtime Beacon Falls resident and retired from MERCK Pharmaceuticals where he worked for many years. He was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and belonged to the parish Men’s Club. He was a lifetime member of the Beacon Falls Lion’s Club and was active in town politics, serving on the Board of Finance and as assessor for the town of Beacon Falls.

Besides his wife, he leaves, a son, Joseph T. Trzaski and his wife Julie of South Windsor; a daughter, Andrea Ruhl and her husband Steven of Beacon Falls; two sisters, Leah Tuohy of Bethany and Patricia Welch of Newington; four grandchildren, twin granddaughters Emily and Meghan Ruhl, Olivia and William Trzaski; several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Michael Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
