Obituary: WWII Veteran Bronislaw Kerski Dies at 93

The following obituary was provided by Naugatuck Valley Memorial Funeral Home.

OCALA, FLA. – Mr. Bronislaw Kerski, 93, of Ocala, FL, passed away on December 18, 2010 at his home. He was the widower of Dorothy E. (Durant) Kerski.

Mr. Kerski was born in Naugatuck on March 21, 1917, a son of the late Wladyslaw and Anastasia (Szulc) Kerski. He was a longtime Naugatuck resident and retired from Duracell Battery after many years.  He served in the Army during World War II and was a communicant of St. Mary Church. 

He leaves four sons, Robert Kerski of Germany, David and James Kerski both of Boca Raton, FL, John Kerski of Bristol; two daughters, Dorothy Kerski of Wolcott, Carol Bousquet of Ocala, FL; two brothers, Francis Kerski of Oxford, Benjamin Kerski of Cheshire; a sister, Theresa Healy of New York; 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Paul Kerski who passed away on February 2, 2011. 

A graveside service with the internment of Bronislaw, Dorothy, and Paul’s cremains will be held on Saturday, June 18 at 11 a.m. in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Full military honors will be accorded for Bronislaw and Paul. Arrangements entrusted to Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
