A Danbury businessman who federal authorities said made 18 mortgage loans with fraudulent documents must serve two years in prison. Gary Snook, 62, who owned and operated York Accounting and Financial Services, 13 West St., Danbury, must also pay more than $1 million. Snook's wrongdoing took place between 2003 and 2006. A 17-year-old Naugatuck female was charged after allegedly punching another female over an argument about a bus seat. The defendant's name is being withheld because she is a minor. The teen's case is pending in Waterbury Superior Court. Read more .

 

Oxford's former tax collector is facing up to 20 years in prison for allegedly stealing at least $243,902 of taxpayers' money. The tax official, who drover a Jaguar to work and ordered $1,800 Bloomingdales boots, lived a lavish lifestyle on a $50,000 per year town position, officials said.
