Darien Subway Restroom Voyeur Gets One Year in Prison

Marco Dias was arrested in August after an armored truck driver who used the restaurant's restroom noticed the tiny video camera, made to look like a computer memory stick, attached to a drain pipe under the sink.

A Bridgeport man who was caught secretly filming patrons using the unisex bathroom at the Subway restaurant in Darien using a compact video camera has reportedly been sentenced to three years in prison, with one year to serve.

According to a report in the Stamford Advocate, Marco Dias, 22, pleaded guilty to voyeurism and was sentenced Wednesday, Dec. 12, by Judge Richard Comerford at state Superior Court in Stamford.

As reported in Darien Patch, Dias was arrested in August after an armored truck driver who used the restaurant's restroom noticed the tiny "spy camera," reportedly made to look like a computer memory stick, attached to a drain pipe under the sink.

Police said through their investigation they found video of Dias setting up the camera, as well as of patrons using the toilet.

During the criminal proceedings it was revealed that Dias was in the country illegally.
