Duo Steals Motorcycle, Crashes It in Naugatuck

The incident occurred Tuesday on Mill Street.

NAUGATUCK – A local woman crashed a stolen motorcycle, injuring herself and the passenger she had on the back, before leaving the bike in the middle of the road, police said.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on Mill Street, when Deidre Gonzalez, 20, of 75 Sunburst Road, crashed the 1999 Kawasaki Ninja bike she was driving. She and her passenger, Eric Santos, 22, who lives with Gonzalez, were injured. Santos broke his nose, cut his face and fractured his shoulder; Gonzalez had minor injuries, according to a police report.

Police said that after the incident, the pair took off in a car that a friend was driving.

Police responded and discovered that the motorcycle was reported stolen out of Meriden. It was towed from the scene.

Naugatuck police quickly caught Gonzalez and Santos. Gonzalez was charged with reckless driving, operating without a motorcycle license, evading responsibility, third-degree larceny and interfering with an officer for lying about who was driving.

Santos was charged with third-degree larceny and interfering with an officer.

WOW! This dude needs to spend some serious time behind bars. Just a matter of time before he 'graduates" to bigger and better things. Wonder if the chick with him in Meriden was the same one who crashed the bike in Naugy? What a loser!

It's becoming more affordable to live here rather than in waterbury, bridgeport, and new haven. So they are flooding in, reducing property values, and increasing the violent crimes.
