Larcenies, DUIs, Drug Charges in Blotter

The Naugatuck Police Department has been busy in recent days.

Christopher Kosarko, 26, of 11 Lake Ave., West Haven, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol and evading responsibility with a motor vehicle after a motor vehicle accident at 4:21 p.m. at the corner of Cherry and Scott streets, police said. He is accused of striking a vehicle from behind and taking off before striking a utility pole on Cherry Street Extension, police said. He was released on a $500 surety bond and given a court date of May 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

He and his passenger, Scott Dwyer, 33, of 635 2nd Ave., West Haven, were found throwing items out of the car and over a fence nearby, police said. Police later discovered the items were cocaine, a syringe and baggies, police said. They were charged with possession of narcotics and use of drug paraphernalia.

Dwyer was released on a $500 surety bond and given a court date of May 22.

Naugatuck Police K-9 Vane helped track down a man accused of stealing a computer from Walmart at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at Walmart on New Haven Road.

Robert Hosko is accused of stealing and fleeing the scene in a car. Police located the car on New Haven Road, but Hosko abandoned the car and ran away, police said. Vane helped track him down, police said.

Hosko, 30, of 426 Wilson St., Waterbury, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and interfering with an officer. He was held on a $2,5000 surety bond and was arraigned Friday at Waterbury Superior Court.

Justin Rodriguez, 19, of 149 Meadowbrook Drive, Waterbury, was charged with sixth-degree larceny after being accused of stealing a vehicle from the victim’s driveway on July 2, 2012, police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Ryan Sheehy, 29, of 18 Canna Drive, East Haven, was charged May 7 with driving under the influence after being pulled over for motor vehicle infractions at 12:38 a.m., police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 16 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Jose Dlavarria, 40, of 38 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace after he hit someone in the face at 1:22 p.m. on May 7, police said. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and was arraigned last week at Waterbury Superior Court.

Two juveniles were arrested after screaming at each other, causing a disturbance, in the hallway at Naugatuck High School on April 30, police said.

A man and a woman from Salisbury (Litchfield County) were charged with larceny after being accused of stealing clothing and sneakers valued at $108 from Walmart on May 7, police said.

Nicole Rumblue, 35, and Matthew Delmolino, 30, both of 17 Cannan Road, were charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. They were released on $500 non-surety bonds and given court dates of May 15 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Felicia Meservey, 22, of 131 Scott St., Naugatuck, and Kayla Ruddy, 21, of 21 Laura Ave., Prospect, and Valbona Halim, 24, of 18 Roy Mountain Road, Prospect, were charged with breach of peace after an argument at 3:12 p.m. on May 7, police said. They were released on $500 non-surety bonds and were arraigned last week at Waterbury Superior Court.

Shane King, 27, of 19 Celentano Drive, Naugatuck, was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Michael Christiano, 20, of 187 Hillside Ave., Torrington, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over on South Main Street at 1 a.m. for a motor vehicle investigation, police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 23 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Jose Vazquez, 19, of 336 Farmington Ave., Waterbury, was charged with sixth-degree larceny after being accused of stealing a microwave from his place of employment at 31 Sheriden Drive in the Naugatuck Industrial Park, police said.  He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned on May 15 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Samuel Staffier, 46, of 190 Osborn Road, Naugatuck, is accused of stealing an iPod, a watch, two handbags and an earring from a vacant home at 7:51 a.m. on May 9, police said. He was charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear May 15 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Tyler Synott, 20, of 198 Scott St., Naugatuck, was charged with operating with an elevated blood alcohol content after being pulled over at 12:35 a.m.  Saturday on North Church Street, police said. He was also charged with operating with a suspended license. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 23 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Avni Fero, 43, of 64 Laurel Ridge Road, Watertown, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 2:14 a.m. on South Main Street for a motor vehicle investigation, police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 23 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Kyle Ash, 21 of 12 Galpin St., Naugatuck, was charged with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana after he was found in possession of .87 ounces of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop on Galpin Street at 5:30 p.m. on May 11, police said. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Alberto Neves, 44, of 47 Galpin St., Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct following a fight Sunday night in his apartment, police said. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and will be arraigned May 13 at Waterbury Superior Court.

David Soderberg, 32, of 129 Highland Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after being accused of punching a woman at 10:54 p.m. on May 11, causing injuries to her lip, nose and eyes, police said. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 13.

William Myers, 26, of 79-5 Ridge Road, was charged with disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and third-degree strangulation after a fight, police said. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned on May 13 at Waterbury Superior Court.

McClendron, 23, of 57 Terrace Circle, Bridgepot, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over on South Main Street at 1:13 a.m. on May 12 on South Main Street, police said. S’he was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given a court date of May 23 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Ryan Klies, 20, of 56 Quarry Hill Road, Waterbury, was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault following a fight with another man on Porter Avenue at 1:37 a.m. Sunday, police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and will be arraigned May 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Chermele Christy, 31, of 166 Farnham Ave., New Haven, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 3:12 a.m. on the Salem Bridge for failing to obey a traffic signal, police said. She was released on a $500 non-surety bond and will be arraigned on May 23 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Andrew Adams, 20, of 30 Round Tree Drive, Naugatuck, was charged with breach of peace at 1:37 a.m. Sunday, his birthday, following a fight, police said. He was released on a $5,000 bond and given a court date of May 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Nathan Araujo, 24, of 128 Gorman St., Naugatuck, was charged with illegal sale of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after being found in possession of 4.39 ounces of marijuana and a scale during a motor vehicle investigation on Gorman Street at 5:32 p.m. on Sunday, police said. He was released on a $10,000 surety bond.

Kenneth Martin, 20, of 47 Gaplin St., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct following a fight on Sunday night, police said. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and will be arraigned today, May 13, at Waterbury Supeiror Court.

Richard Diaz, 44, of 32 Neumann St., Naugatuck, is accused of holding a knife and threatening the victim during an altercation Sunday night at his home, police said. He was charged with breach of peace and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. He was scheduled to be arraigned today, May 13, at Waterbury Superior Court.
