Man Arrested for Starting Fight During Youth BBall Game

The Waterbury man was arrested in Naugatuck on Saturday for shoving someone, police said.

 

A Waterbury man was arrested after pushing another adult during a youth girls' basketball game at the Naugatuck YMCA Saturday, police said.

Luke Davis, 39, of 150 Mohican Ave., Waterbury, was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an officer after he tried to run after the victim, a youth coach, ignoring an officer’s commands to stop, police said.

Lt. Stephen Hunt was at the game to watch his daughter play when he was asked to keep an eye on Davis, who was arguing with his ex-girlfriend before the game, police said. After the game, Davis pushed a coach and tried to run after him for unknown reasons, police said. Hunt followed him, identified himself as an off-duty police officer and told Davis to stop, which he eventually did, police said. Hunt called uniformed officers who arrested Davis.  

He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and given an arraignment date of Jan. 30 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Jelena Terrill, 19, of 31 Church St., Beacon Falls, was pulled over for a  Sunday, Jan. 20. During the investigation, police said they found 4.5 grams of marijuana and two glass smoking pipes. Terrill’s juvenile sister was also in the car with her, police said. She was charged with risk of injury to a child, use of drug paragphernalia, possession of drugs near a school, possession of drug paraphernalia near a school and possession of less than a half-ounce of marijuana, second offense.

She was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 30 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Cassandra Jacobsen, 30, of 43 Suffolk St., Waterbury, was charged with second-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace for damaging a door at someone’s apartment, police said. She was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and was to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 30.

William Aquino, 50, of 13 Ridge Road, Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct and interfering with an emergency call after an incident in which he threw the victim’s clothes out of the house and then disconnected the phone when the victim attempted to call police. He was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned at Waterbury Superior Court on Tuesday, Jan. 22.

Miguel Arroyo, 54, of 39 Horton Hill Road, Naugatuck, was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

Michael Lawrence, 51, of 107 Foxon Court, Beacon Falls, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 4:44 p.m. Saturday on Beacon Valley Road, police said. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and will be arraigned on Jan. 31 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Shane Shashaty, 19, of 191 Scott St., Naugatuck, was charged with failure to respond to an infraction.

Roger Houseknecht, 57, of Last Known Address 57 Oak St., Naugatuck, was charged with breach of peace, interfering with an officer and first-degree criminal trespass during an incident Saturday at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge. Police were called for an unwanted party.  Houseknecht was found sitting behind bushes on the property. When the officer began checking him for weapons, Houseknecht tensed up and began swearing at the officer, police said. He also kicked the back of the officer’s seat while in the police cruiser, police said. He was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and given an arraignment date of Jan. 30 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Barry Drapeau, 42, of 93 Irving St., Naugatuck, was charged with  disorderly conduct after an argument. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Teresa Kennedy, 46, of 96 Irving St., Naugatuck, was charged with interfering with an officer after repeatedly interfering with an investigation at 93 Irving St., police said.

Celina Paetsch, 22, of 250 Scott Road, Waterbury, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 20,  on Rubber Avenue, police said. She was released on a $500 non-surety bond and given an arraignment date of Jan. 31 at Waterbury Superior Court.

Patricia Ematrudo, 50, of 43 Lake Drive, Montville, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 12:25 a.m. on Field Street, police said. She was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 31 at Waterbury Superior Court.
