Man Arrested in Alleged Nose-Poking Assault

The following information was provided by the public information officer at the Naugatuck Police Department. They are allegations until proven otherwise in a court of law.

ASSAULT
Antonio Herrera, 21, 1015 Old Colony Road, Meriden, was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault after police said he was involved in an altercation in the roadway on Spencer Street on May 31. Herrera is accused of poking his girlfriend in the nose, causing minor injuries, police said. He was released on a $2,500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 1.

INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER
Rebecca Mueller, 22, 298 Spencer St., Naugatuck, was charged with interfering with an officer after police said she pushed through officers and attempted to stop the arrest of her boyfriend who was being charged on May 31. Mueller was released on a promise to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 8.

DUI
David Monahan, 52, 33 Pleasant Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with a failure to drive in the proper lane and driving under the influence after police said he crossed the centerline of Millville Ave on May 31 around 6:45 p.m. Monahan was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 9.
