Man Charged With Striking Son and Son's Friend

Incident happened Tuesday night when 50-year-old man was drunk, police say.

A 50-year-old local man is accused of hitting his son and his son’s friend while intoxicated on Tuesday night.

Naugatuck police went to 28 Beacon Wood Road at 8 p.m. for a call of an intoxicated man who had fallen. When police investigated, they discovered that Thomas Scianna, who lives at the address, had hit his son and his son's friend, police said.

Scianna was charged with risk of injury to a child and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $5,000 surety bond and was arraigned Wednesday at Waterbury Superior Court.

Scianna has one conviction on his record in Connecticut, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch, which states he pleaded guilty in 2010 to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
