Naugatuck Police Arrest 3 In Drug Deal Turned Robbery and Assault

Police say a Naugatuck man was dragged by the getaway car.

On Saturday night Naugatuck police responded to Coen Street on a report of an assault, police said in a press release. 

According to police, Ryan Sears, 21, of Coen Street, allegedly agreed to sell marijuana to Jonathan Sego, 20, of Rubber Avenue. John Burns III, 24, of Spring Street, allegedly drove Sego to meet with Sears to sell them marijuana, police said. 

When Sears gave Sego the marijuana, Sego instructed Burns to drive away, police said. When they drove away, Sears was dragged by the vehicle and sustained injuries to his hands and feet, police said.

Police later found Sego and Burns later in Naugatuck. Sego and Burns were each charged with third-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit third-degree robbery, second-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance. 

Sears was charged with illegal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
