Police: Man Had Gun While Driving Drunk
4th of July arrests include two additional DUI charges, including one that came about when the man was reportedly driving too slow.
DUI, with a Gun
A Naugatuck police officer arrested Roberto Zurio, 37, of Bridgeport, early on July 4 on charges of operating under the influence, possession of a firearm while under the influence, and unsafe movement of a stopped or parked motor vehicle.
Zurio was pulled over at 1:58 a.m. on Meadow Street, where it was determined that he was intoxicated and had a weapon in his vehicle, police said. He was released on bonds totaling $1,500 for a scheduled court appearance on July 19.

Domestic Violence
An early morning domestic disturbance led to the arrest July 3 of a Naugatuck man on multiple charges.

Officers responded to a residence on Conrad Street at 10:30 p.m. to investigate a report of an argument. Shane Crossland, 39, of 53 Conrad Street, reportedly left the scene in the victim's car, and when he was stopped on Bridge Street the officer determined he was intoxicated, according to police.
Officers were informed that Crossland also kicked open a door, which hit the victim in the shoulder. He also allegedly shouted at and threatened the victim in the presence of children.
Crossland was charged with threatening, disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a child, DUI, operating with a suspended license and making an improper turn signal. He was held on $6,000 bond for an appearance on July 5 in Waterbury Superior Court.
Driving Too Slow Leads to DUI Arrest
Naugatuck police arrested a Watertown man on a charge of DUI at 1:59 a.m. on July 4 as he exited Route 8 at exit 28.
Rajesh Patel, 51, of Watertown, was also charged with operating a vehicle at too slow a speed, failure to drive in the proper lane and other infractions, police said. Patel was released on $500 bond for a court appearance on July 19.
Failure to Appear
Naugatuck police said Raymond Kosma, 22, of 105 Wooster Street, Naugatuck, was arrested on July 3 on two outstanding arrest warrants.
One warrant charges him with failure to pay a fine and the other for failure to second-degree appear. Kosma was released on bonds totaling $345 and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on July 11.
