YOUTH CHARGED WITH MINOR ASSAULT
A Naugatuck juvenile was charged with third-degree assault on March 23 stemming from a police investigation into a Feb. 15 domestic disturbance. The juvenile was released to her mother and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 26.

Patrick O’Brien, 63, 43 Edwards Road, Bethany, was charged with driving under the influence and a failure to drive at a reasonable speed after police investigated a car accident on New Haven Road at 7:57 p.m. on March 23. O’Brien was released on a $500 cash bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 5.
YOUTH CHARGED WITH RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT
A Naugatuck juvenile was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, threatening, third-degree assault of an a elderly person and disorderly conduct after police said he got into an argument with his father on March 24 at 4:20 p.m. Police said the juvenile hit the victim, who sustained a small laceration on his cheek. He then went into the kitchen to get a steak knife, which he used to threaten the victim, police said. The youth was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior court on March 26.
MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT
Donald Benaitis, 44, 440 South Main St., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault, a breach of peace and violating a protective order after police responded to a Carroll Street home for a report of a disturbance. During an argument police said Benaitis slapped the victim in the face. Benaitis was held on a $15,000 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 26.
MAN CHARGED WITH DISORDERLY CONDUCT
James Beckwith, 38, 173 Rubber Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct on March 25 after police responded to his home for a report of a domestic disturbance between a boyfriend and girlfriend. Police said Beckwith pushed the victim. He was released on a $500 surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 26.

Carolyn Broadhurst, 21, 111 Albion St., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence and improper parking after police responded to Maple Street for a motor vehicle investigation on march 25. Broadhurst was released on a $500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 5.
YOUTH ACCUSED OF DAMAGIN A WALL
A Naugatuck juvenile was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he got into an argument with his father at his home on March 25 and pulled down his closet shelving, damaging the sheet rock wall. The juvenile was released to the custody of his mother and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 26.
MAN CHARGED WITH DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Helder Braz, 52, 4 Rough Wing Road, Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct on March 25 after police responded to his home for a report of a disturbance between a father and son. Police said Braz grabbed the juvenile by the shoulder and neck area. He was released on a $500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 26.
MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING AN OFFICER
Daniel Swenor, 29, 46 Bridge St., Naugatuck, was charged with a breach of peace and interfering with an officer after police said an officer observed a suspicious male on Bridge Street 1:07 a.m. on March 27. When police approached the person, who turned out to be Swenor, the suspect began to yell and swear at the officer. The officer then started to place Swenor under arrest, however the suspect resisted. Police said Swenor held onto a metal railing and avoided being handcuffed. Swenor was released after posting a $5,000 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on April 4.
