Naugatuck Police Warn Residents After Car Break-Ins

Several cars broken into on 'the Ridge' on Naugatuck's east side.

The Naugatuck Police Department is reminding residents to keep their car doors locked after eight cars were reportedly broken into on The Ridge subdivision off of Osborn Road on the borough's east side Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Police said several people reported Tuesday morning that someone had opened their unlocked car doors and sifted through items in their cars. A laptop and a wallet with hundreds of dollars in cash were stolen from two separate cars, police said.

Police said people should always lock their car doors and ask them not to leave their valuables inside the car and not to leave anything of value, even loose change, in plain sight.

Anyone with information about the break-ins is urged to call the Naugatuck Police Department at 203.729.5222.
