Police Blotter: Man Gets Out of Car, Driver Hits Him With Vehicle

Another man is charged with leading Naugatuck Police on a chase along Route 8 in the latest police blotter.


Police say Aisha Stedford, 25, of 396 South Main St., Naugatuck, got into a fight with a man in her car before the man got out of the vehicle and started walking, police said. Police said she deliberately drove at the man and hit him with the passenger side mirror of her car during the incident at 7:58 a.m. on Feb. 16 on New Haven Road, police said. Stedford kept driving because she didn't believe she had hit him, police said. Two small children were in the backseat of the car, police said. She was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, third-degree assault and breach of peace.

A Waterbury man led police on a chase on Route 8 after an officer tried to pull over the truck he was driving because it had no marker plates at 5:09 p.m. on Feb. 17, police said.

Michael Vosney, 25, of 74 Southview St., Waterbury, continued driving after police tried to pull him over and weaved in and out of traffic before finally stopping, police said.

He was charged with disobeying an officer’s signal, reckless driving, illegal operation of a motor vehicle, failure to carry proper insurance, improper use of a marker plate and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

Nicholas Andrews, 31, of 166 Prospect St., No. 2, Naugatuck, was arrested for breach of peace after shouting at friends and punching holes in walls of the Prospect Street apartment, police said.

Police arrested a man wanted on a warrant out of Nevada over the weekend when the man attended a Child ID drive at Walmart over the weekend, police said. Officer Chip Schofield noticed the man and knew he was wanted in Nevada, police said.

Nino Black 45, of 105 Cold Spring Circle, Naugatuck, is wanted in Nevada for writing a bad check and felony theft. He was held on a $100,000 bond and is to be arraigned today at Waterbury Superior Court.

Traci Peil, 46, of 184 Cherry St., second floor, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct for pushing and hitting the victim, police said.

Joao Teixeira, 63, of 155 Edgewood Ave., Waterbury, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over on Cherry Street at 10:38 p.m. on Cherry Street, police said.

Bryan A. Pihonak, 19, of 170 Park Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over on Salem Street at 8 p.m. on Feb. 15. Police say Piholak was found with 1.21 ounces of marijuana, a metal grinder and an electronic scale. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell and having drugs near a school.

Nicholas Peil, 22, of 184 Cherry St., second floor, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct for pushing the victim, police said.

Viensavanh Intirath, 32, of 45 Woodward Ave., Norwalk, was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

Logan Lisieski, 26, of 19 North Circle, Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol after being pulled over at 1:16 a.m. on Feb. 17.

Carlos Amaral, 24, of 285 Quinn St., Naugatuck, was charged with four counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Lesley Pell, 24, of 224 Prospect St., Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct after disturbing neighbors during an argument, police said.
