Police Blotter: Man Uses 2-By-4 in Fight

Alleged thefts, DUIs, domestic violence incidents in latest Naugatuck Police blotter.

 

A Naugatuck man was arrested after hitting another man on the back with a 2-by-4 piece of wood, police said.

The incident occurred on Oct. 23 at 139 Lewis St., where William Schreier, 44, of 137 Lewis St., was charged with third-degree assault, breach of peace and second-degree reckless endangerment.

Caroline Gurgel, 18, of 199 Allerton Road, Naugatuck, and Perla Quinones, 18, of 56 Aetna St., were charged with sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy at sixth degree larceny.

Gurgel was seen shoplifting items and putting them in her purse at Walmart, walking past all points of sale, police said. Quinones was found in possession of a cell phone charger and a Bluetooth valued at $39.92.

Quinones was also found in possession of a controlled substance and illegal sale of a controlled substance. That report was not completed.

Ericka Corbett, 32, of 16 Hard St., Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct after she grabbed her boyfriend and attempted to bite him during a fight, police said. Her boyfriend, John Malgari, 37, of 167 Gorman St., Naugatuck, was also charged with disorderly conduct after grabbing the victim and pushing her down, police said.

William Dlugos, Jr., 38, of 224 Water St., Naugatuck, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Phylicia Maia, 28, of 9 Thunderbird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

Nicholas Kish, 30, of 95 Bluebird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree larceny and first-degree criminal mischief for breaking into the loading docks and Stop & Shop and stealing items, police said.

Scott Powell, 25, of 95 Fern St., Naugatuck, was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree criminal mischief after damaging his roommate’s door during an argument, police said.

Craig Amaro, 27, of 74 Spencer St., Naugatuck, was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Two juveniles were arrested after getting into a fight at Naugatuck High School on Oct. 24.

Jill MacLean, 28, of 74 Greenwood St., Watertown, was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and breach of peace.

John Aresta, 44, of 145 High St., Naugatuck, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Ronnie Ammar, 22, of 6 Celentano Drive, Naugatuck, was charged with operaring under the influence of drugs/alcohol.

Note: The above arrests were filed by the Naugatuck Police Department. The arrests do not indicate a conviction. Those arrested are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
