Police: Male Driving Van Asked Girl, 13, If She Wanted Candy

The incident happened this morning at a bus stop in Naugatuck, police say.

The Naugatuck Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Millville and May streets in which an adult man who was driving the vehicle asked a 13-year-old girl if she wanted candy.

The girl described the man as heavy-set and in between the ages of 50-and-55 years old with short hair and a blue shirt. The vehicle was described as a green minivan.

The area was thoroughly searched by officers, but the vehicle and the suspect were not spotted. All borough schools have been notified of the incident.
