Police: Naugatuck Man Found With 38 Grams of Pot in Milford

Police say they pulled the car over for a routine motor vehicle infraction.

MILFORD -- A Naugatuck man who was pulled over by Milford police for a routine motor vehicle infraction was found in possession of 38 grams of marijuana, Milford police said. 

Jordan Gonzalez, 19, of Lorann Circle, Naugatuck, made an illegal turn at a red light at the intersection of Naugatuck and Bridgeport avenues at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, police said. Police said Gonzalez had the marijuana in his possession and they believe he intended to sell it. 

William Quiles, 20 of 9 Andrews Ave., Milford, was a passenger in the car and was found in possession of brass knuckles, police said.

Gonzalez was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia within 1,500 feet of a school.

Quiles was charged with having a weapon in a motor vehicle.

They were both released on a promise to appear in court on April 2.
