Farmington police are still investigating the circumstances of a Farmington teen's two-day disappearance.

The Hartford Courant and FOX CT have reported that a criminal investigation is under way, citing unnamed sources who told them that Juliette Lyon, 15, the missing Farmington teen found Saturday evening, may not have left town voluntarily.

But Farmington police Lt. Marshall Porter said the department is still working with Hartford and New Britain police to determine the facts behind Lyon's disappearance and whether there was a criminal element involved.

“We have no information to suggest that she left Farmington unwillingly," Porter told Patch Monday. "We’re investigating and certainly trying to figure out what happened over the two days she was gone. If we find any criminal violations occurred, action will be taken."

He said in an email to multiple media outlets that the Courant declined to reveal its source and said the information was not verified through him as the department's public information officer. Porter said he suggested to the newspaper that the source contact Farmington police "to share whatever information they may have."

Connecticut State Police issued a Silver Alert Saturday around noon for Lyon, the daughter of Naugatuck's City Hill Middle School Principal Brian Hendrickson, after 48 hours had gone by with no sign of her. State police K-9 units assisted Farmington police and brought several dogs to search for Lyon near the CVS on Route 10 where she had last been seen around 8 p.m. Friday.  Family, friends and other volunteers, including several from Naugatuck, handed out missing person fliers and held up signs on Route 4 with her picture.

Farmington police received a tip from a man just before 4 p.m. on Saturday as police were holding a press conference about the missing-person case, Porter said. The man, whom he declined to identify, told police that he may have seen Lyon with someone he knew in New Britain that day. New Britain and Farmington police responded and learned at the address that Lyon might actually be in Hartford.

Hartford police found Lyon uninjured at 193 Jefferson St. in Hartford that evening and stayed with her until Farmington police arrived, Porter said. Farmington police announced just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday that Lyon had been located and returned safely to her family.

Lyon was transported to Connecticut Children's Medical Center as a precaution because she had been missing for two days without her necessary medication, Porter said.

Porter declined to comment on whether Lyon was with anyone when she was found, since the investigation is still active and ongoing. But FOX CT reported that the landlord of the Jefferson Street home, who was not named, said that police had taken two men from the home when they retrieved Juliette but that they were not his tenants.

Porter said police are interviewing anyone who may have seen or been with Lyon during the two days she was missing, but said no one is in custody and no arrests have been made at this time.

More information will be provided when it becomes available.
