Police Release Photos of Citgo Robbery Suspect

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man in these photos, who is wanted for an attempted robbery in Naugatuck and a robbery in Prospect, both of which occurred at gas stations Tuesday night. (See article below photos)

The Naugtuck Police Department has released photos taken from survellience video camera of a man who tried to rob a Citgo gas station on New Haven Road in Naugatuck Tuesday night. (Click here for original story.)

Police say that the white male appears to be between 40 and 50 years old, on the heavier side with a "pot belly." Police say he purchased a drink, took his change and then pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk was able to fight off the suspect and no money was taken, police said.

The man was wearing jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt, a blue checkered flannel shirt with a rip in it over his sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.

After the failed robbery attempt at 7:35 p.m., it appears that the same man went to the Citgo gas station on Union City Road in Prospect, weilded the same knife and fled with cash from the register, police said.

Police are actively searching for the suspect, who is shown in five photos attached to this article.

If anyone recognizes the person pictured, they are asked to contact Detective Ronald Pugliese at the Naugatuck Police Department at 203.729.5222.

Lifelong POS, been in and out of jail. A parole officer or probation officer should recognized this dude. A gas station at his age, hmmmm PUKE. Most likely misses his girlfriend back in the big-house.

Totally agree, Stephen!! I am always amazed that in this age of HD, we can't do better than this!!

I've always wondered about this too and the banks have even worse cameras. Why not put a HD camera directly where the person comes up to the teller?

The people who own and operate Citgo are wonderful people and I am glad he didn't get a DIME off of THEIR hard work. What a loser, a grown man trying to rob gas stations for his next fix probably. Get a job and be a productive citizen like everyone else. Must be really proud of himself! Scum.
