Police Release Photos of Citgo Robbery Suspect

Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the man in these photos, who is wanted for an attempted robbery in Naugatuck and a robbery in Prospect, both of which occurred at gas stations Tuesday night. (See article below photos)

 

The Naugtuck Police Department has released photos taken from survellience video camera of a man who tried to rob a Citgo gas station on New Haven Road in Naugatuck Tuesday night. (Click here for original story.)

Police say that the white male appears to be between 40 and 50 years old, on the heavier side with a "pot belly." Police say he purchased a drink, took his change and then pulled out a knife and demanded money from the cash register. The clerk was able to fight off the suspect and no money was taken, police said.

The man was wearing jeans, a grey hooded sweatshirt, a blue checkered flannel shirt with a rip in it over his sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, police said.

After the failed robbery attempt at 7:35 p.m., it appears that the same man went to the Citgo gas station on Union City Road in Prospect, weilded the same knife and fled with cash from the register, police said.

Police are actively searching for the suspect, who is shown in five photos attached to this article.
