Police Say Woman Stole Cash, Damaged Friend's Car

Police arrested a Naugatuck woman Monday on an active arrest warrant for two reported crimes they say she committed against a friend in October.

Police say Roxann Zappone, 45, illegally withdrew $4584.72 from her friend's bank account without authorization on Oct. 19. According to reports, she also damaged her friend's car, smashing the front end, hood and front quarter panel.

Police did not specify how the damage was caused.

Zappone was charged with criminal mischief and third-degree larceny (shoplifting.) She was released on $500 cash bond and given a court date of Jan. 8.
