Police: Student Dies in Crash, Missing Teen Makes Contact, DOT Worker Killed, Three Arrested in Shooting

Residents of Danbury mourned the loss of a 17-year-old Danbury High School student who was killed in a crash at Western Connecticut State University this week. .

 

In an ongoing story from the past two weeks, a missing 17-year-old Brookfield boy has made contact with his family via phone, twice. The teen, Henry Manning, has a mental disability and, during the latest phone call with his mother, he made confusing statements as to where he was. At one point, he said he was in New York and at another point he said he was in Maine. Manning hasn't been seen since March 21. .

A Department of Transportation worker was killed after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 8 northbound in Waterbury this week, just north of the town line with Naugatuck. His name was Daniel Dinardi. .

Three Danbury area residents were arrested on a number of weapons charges after police responded to a shooting in the Grandview Avenue area. .

 

Newtown Patch has a pair of stories this week regarding petty theft and vandalism. Police there are investigating on South Main Street and a between March 20 and 21.

 

A man from Westport, who has a home in Monroe, reported to police this week that $100,000 in equipment was stolen from his property. Police continue to investigate. .

 

Someone drove a car over a softball field at Great Oak Middle School in Oxford this week, leaving $200 in damage. Police are investigating the incident. .
