Thefts, Fights in Naugatuck Police Blotter

Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:

Richard Timms, 37, of 163 Graaher St., Waterbury, was charged with fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy at fifth-degree larceny after being accused of stealing a Dell laptop computer worth $648 from a female accomplice, police said.

Brandon Caldwell, 19, of 143 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after being accused of repeatedly pushing a female victim against a wall, police said.

William Carls, 34, of 78 Terrace Ave., Naugatuck, was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct after being accused of pushing a woman to the floor and punching her, police said.

Aaron Allen, 23, of 19 Diamond St., Naugatuck, was charged with second-degree threatening and breach of peace after picking up a machete after an argument at his home, police said.

Michael Spear, 24, of 825 Fountain St., Woodbridge, was charged with possession of narcotics after being found in possession of an Oxycodone pill during a motor vehicle investigation on Elm Street, police said.

Frank Tavarez-Mora, 19, of 163B Hamden Ave., Waterbury, was charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving and evading responsibility after the mother of a girl he dropped off at 14 Hemlock Road in Naugatuck walked out to the car to see who was inside, police said. Tavarez-Mora drove off, causing the mother to fall to the ground, police said.

Jennifer Navarro, 30, of 22 West Porter St., Waterbury, was charged Aug. 11 with failure to appear in the second degree.

Richard Tuckey, 51, of 15 Chandler Drive, Prospect, was charged with interfering with an officer, carrying a firearm while under the influence, evading responsibility motor vehicle, reckless driving, failure to drive in proper lane, failure to obey control signal and engaging police in pursuit.

Police responded to South Main Mobil for a motor vehicle accident. When the officer arrived, Tuckey drove away from the scene driving south on New Haven Road. Another officer responded, and Tuckey pushed that officer and ran away. A police dog tracked down Tuckey, who was found with a handgun in the car.

Tuckey was given a court date of Aug. 21 at Waterbury Superior Court. 

Two Naugatuck men were charged last week after a fight on City Hill Street.

John Mortensen, 45, of 248 Maple St., is accused of hitting a juvenile female in the face during an argument, police said. Christopher Norton, 38, of 120 Warren Ave., then began fighting with Mortensen, police said.

 Mortensen was charged with two counts of third-degree assault, interfering with an officer and breach of peace. Norton was charged with breach of peace and third-degree assault.

The above arrests were reported by the Naugatuck Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned, they do not equal a conviction. All of those arrested are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
