Waterbury Woman Killed in Wrong Way Crash on I-84

Incident occurred in the area of Exit 24 in the westbound lane.

A 20-year-old Waterbury woman was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-84 late Monday evening.

According to WTNH, Amanda Grenier was pronounce dead at St. Mary’s Hospital following the crash, which occurred in the Exit 24 area on I-84 westbound.

Grenier was driving east in the westbound lane when the Volvo she was driving collided head-on with a Toyota around 11 p.m. on Monday. The other driver, 51-year-old Monica Evans of Bethlehem, was treated for minor injuries and later released. See WTNH for the full story.

Not too many sober people get on an interstate the wrong way unless they are unfamiliar with the area, or are much older and get confused easily. This girl was 20 and lived in the area so there goes two possible reasons. I think it is much more likely than not that toxicology reports as well as a statement from her surviving passenger will probably get to the bottom of this one quickly.

Yeah Jim. cool story bro! We get it....she was drunk. Does that make you feel better to come on here and disrespect her and her family in a time of tragedy? Like K said, show some respect, and if you are going to say that you never got behind the wheel after a couple of drinks (because we all have) then you are kidding yourself junior. You hypocritical jerk.

What you and "K" don't get is that respect is earned, not handed out. What my statement said disrespected no one, it was simply a statement of facts. I did NOT say she was drunk, YOU did you pompous ass, and while you may, not everyone gets behind a wheel after drinking.
