Woman Arrested on Forgery, Larceny, Identity Theft Charges

Woman allegedly wrote nine checks worth $1,500 total.

Naugatuck police arrested a Waterbury woman Saturday evening on a warrant accusing her of writing bad checks using a family member’s checkbook.

According to police, Mandy Stango, 38, of Glenbrook Ave., Waterbury, forged nine checks in the family member’s name totaling $1,500 during the month of December.

Stango was charged with forgery in the third degree, larceny in the fourth degree and identity theft in the third degree. She was held on $2,500 bond and arraigned in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday.
