Campaign Notebook: McMahon, Murphy to Debate Jobs Creation

News and updates from the campaign trail in Connecticut.

Senate

Democrat Chris Murphy has proposed a debate against Republican opponent Linda McMahon about jobs. Job creation was a central point on McMahon's campaign, and she agreed to participate on Oct. 3 at the Garde Arts Center in New London. Both campaigns have fired off statements criticizing each other about the planning of proposed debates.

Third District

Rosa DeLauro (D): DeLauro spoke out against presidential candidate Mitt Romney's running mate Paul Ryan, reports The Daily Beast. "The Ryan budget does not address debt nor fiscal responsibility. What it does is take care of the very wealthy at the risk of the middle class and people who are poor. That is contrary to Catholic teaching," she said.

Wayne Winsley (R): Winsley will attend the Candidate Forum in Hamden, according to his Facebook page
