GOP Endorses Slate of Candidates

Jim O'Sullivan will lead the ticket.

The Republican ticket for the November election was fleshed out Wednesday night at Santos' Restaurant downtown.

Interesting notes from the meeting include that Board of Education Chairman David Heller, who was not able to attend the meeting due to work responsibilities, won nomination by a fairly slim margin. Heller received 15 votes, while nine others voted against him - two people, school board candidates, abstained. Most said they were upset that Heller publicly supported not voting on the budget last week to keep the number of voters below 15 percent so that the results wouldn't count.

Also, Deputy Mayor Tamath K. Rossi had the public support of everyone in the room Wednesday except one very well-known politician, State Rep. Rosa Rebimbas. Rebimbas was the only person who voted against Rossi's nomination.

The following is the GOP's slate of candidates (the Democrats choose their ticket tonight).
