According to Dunkin’ Donuts website there are five locations in Naugatuck already, and soon there may be a sixth. Plans have been filed to turn the former Vinny’s Restaurant and Pizzeria site on Prospect Street into a gas station, convenience store, and Dunkin’ Donuts with a drive-thru window, the Waterbury Republican-American reports.

According to the proposal, Vinny’s would be demolished to make way for the new development, the Republican-American reports.

Former Vinny's? I drive by there every day and they looked open to me!

Naugatalk and D. Hawkins should put their money where their mouths are...develop a business plan, secure financing, and give it a try if you have a better idea.

Terrible idea. The traffic is already incredibly bad on this section of Prospect Street. Also, many, too many accidents all the time between where the Prospect Street School is and this corner. Have lived on this street for nearly 20 years....and this is a super bad idea for this place.

Ever try to get in and out of Vinny's in the afternoon? Please....it's a nightmare. Add another 100-200 cars in and out of there afternoons once it's a gas station/DD's and you have a bottleneck. Gonna need a traffic genius to plan this one. And don't forget the morning rush especially during school. And let's not forget...that road is constantly being dug up, worked on, patched. Anybody tell me a time in the last 3-4 years that construction crews haven't been causing misery? I remember a billboard a few years back at that intersection. They were trying to drum up new business support for the area. The sign said, "19,000 cars pass by here daily!" I think it is at least that now, maybe more. I'm all for DD's but damn....
