Education Foundation Looking for a Few Good 'Chums'

The Naugatuck Education Foundation will hold its second-annual 'Alums and Chums' event on Friday, Nov. 23, at Jesse Camille's.

 

The Naugatuck Education Foundation is looking to gather Naugatuck High School graduates of all ages for a night of fun on Friday, Nov. 23.

The organization will hold its second-annual “Alums and Chums” event the day after Thanksgiving at Jesse Camille’s Restaurant, 615 North Church St. The event, a fundraiser for the education foundation, will begin at 7 p.m. The entry fee is $20 and includes appetizers, music, raffle prizes and a cash bar. Tickets can be obtained at the door. Proceeds will benefit NEF’s grant program.

The NEF’s mission statement states that the organization, in partnership with the community, encourages excellence in education by providing funding for innovative and creative learning opportunities for students. Read more here on the organziation’s website. (And see the attached flier.) 

The organization's chair, Joan Doback, will be honored tomorrow, Thursday, Nov. 14, as the Franklin Johnson Sr. Citizen of the Year during a breakfast at Jesse Camille’s Restaurant. That breakfast will be held at 8 a.m.

Money raised from the breakfast will also go toward the NEF. RSVP to Mayor’s Aide Ed Carter at ecarter@naugatuck-ct.gov or 203.720-7208. Tickets are $25 per person. Checks can be made payable to the Naugatuck Event Fund.
