Osher Lifelong Learning Institute- OPEN HOUSE

OPEN HOUSE – OLLI for a Day.   Free / open to the public. Wednesday, Aug. 17 – 9AM to 3PM. UConn Waterbury campus.  Continental breakfast, fall registration, keynote speaker and choice of 4 afternoon sampler classes.  Call to register: 203-236-9924 or osher@uconn.edu. Fall session of non-credit classes for older adults – September to November 2011.  $60 annual membership – classes from $20 - $50.

The morning keynote speaker will be Professor Joanna Clapps Herman. The Waterbury native and author will humorously tell the story of her Italian heritage and what it was like growing up Italian in Waterbury.  Participants will have the opportunity to choose from four afternoon classes:  GOING DEEP: A Memoir Writing Workshop, with Joanna Clapps Herman; Composing a Creative Life on Purpose with Steve Dahlberg; Preserving the Art of Dance, with Donna Bonasera and Sheila Waters Fucci, at the historic Howland Hughes Building; and Food to Live For! (food demo and sampling with Jane Sirignano).

OLLI at UConn provides non-credit learning experiences for older adults. The fall session of courses runs from September to November.
