Hop Brook School Kicks Off Summer Reading Venture [Video]

Naugatuck school challenges students to read more than 12 books this summer.

Educators at Naugatuck public schools want their students to stay sharp over the summer. So they are challenging students to read a certain amount of books over the next couple months.

At that number is at least 12. And, from the looks of it, the students are poised to reach that goal.

On Tuesday, the students made a "human 12." They each lined up in designated areas, held pieces of yellow paper over their heads and posed for a picture.

Then they went into the school's gymnasium where educators explained that they are challenging the students to read more than dozen books between now and the beginning of next school year.

Naugatuck Patch was there to take photos and video. Enjoy. And good luck, students!
