Active Shooter Drill at Naugatuck High

The school's principal explains what the drill entails on the NHS website.

The following information comes directly from the Naugatuck High School website:

Parents/Guardians:

As a school, routinely practicing codes is a responsibility we take seriously so that students and staff are prepared for any type of an emergency. So far this year, we have practiced fire drills, protect in place drills, and weather drills. On Monday (March 18, 2013), we will practice an intruder drill. The following was read to students today (Thursday, March 14, 2013) in homeroom. It is posted here so you can also know the facts concerning our next drill. With any drill, it is always the intent to prepare and not scare. Every type of drill we practice allows us to analyze our vulnerabilities and better prepare for any actual emergency. We are very fortunate that our police department is willing to practice with us so they are prepared as well.

Thank you,
Mrs. (Janice) Saam, principal
