The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in anticipation of a snow storm that's expected to hit the state Wednesday afternoon.
Naugatuck has issued an early dismissal for all borough schools as the weather approaches, said borough Business Manager Wayne McAllister.
The wintry mix is expected to start falling sometime after noon. The National Weather Service is predicting one to two inches of snow in Naugatuck and up to four inches in parts across western Connecticut.
There will be areas of freezing rain later today, with the mixed precipitation turning to all rain by Thursday morning, according to reports. The bad weather is expected to continue into Thursday evening.
Road conditions are also expected to be slippery.
