Naugatuck Schools to Test New Emergency Notification System

The school district has a new way of reaching out to parents in case they need to be notified.

Attention parents/guardians of Naugatuck school children: if you get a call, a text message or another form of communication from the Naugatuck School System Thursday night, do not be alarmed. This is just a test.

The Naugatuck school system will test its new emergency notification system between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. The test message will appear on your caller I.D. as (855) 307-9102. The messages will go to the primary contact number parents/guardians provided to the school system.

The new school notification system, School Messenger, allows the school system to communicate directly with families on schedule changes due to inclement weather and other urgent issues, i.e. school cancellations, delayed openings, early dismissals, power outages or other necessary information at the district and school level.

Parents/guardians who do not receive the test message on Thursday are asked to follow directions provided by the child’s school for what to do when you do not receive the test message. This will allow the school system to make necessary adjustments to its database.
