Naugy Remembers Newtown Victims in Touching Ceremony [Multimedia]

Names of all 26 who died at Sandy Hook Elementary School are read before a song is sang in their honor.

Students at Naugatuck High School held a moving ceremony Friday to honor victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

More than 1,300 NHS students packed the school's gymnasium and looked at the center of the basketball court, where 26 students lined up with little space between them. The line, which stretched from one end of the gym to the other, was a vivid reminder of just how many were taken by a lone gunman.

During the ceremony, which was organized by students, each of the 26 victim names was read. After each name, a student cast a bubble into the air high above their heads.

"The students came to me last week and said we have to do something," said NHS Principal Jan Saam. "We talked about ideas and this is what they came up with. They put it all together themselves and did a great job. I am tremendously proud of them."

After the names were read, juniors Jussonjah Duby (singer) and Megan McSweeney (flute) performed "Danny Boy."
