Valley Indy: Naugatuck Resident, School Dean, Pleads Not Guilty in Drug Case

William LaRovera's new court date is set for Oct. 17, the news site reported.

DERBY — Naugatuck resident William LaRovera, a dean of students at Derby Middle School, entered a not guilty plea in Derby Superior Court to charges of possession of narcotics, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel.

LaRovera, 35, was escorted from the middle school grounds on Sept. 8 after Principal Sally Bonina alerted police that he allegedly had prescription pills outside of their original container. When police responded to the school, officers located 66 Roxycodone pills as well as tubes of crushed pills, .

The man's lawyer, Robert Serafinowicz, has reportedly said that LaRovera had an arm injury and had become addicted to the medications. The site has more information regarding the case, as well as a video interview with Serafinowicz.
