Corey Johnson is now famous for something that may haunt him for the rest of his life. A costly mistake, one may call it. Really costly.

The Meriden, Conn., resident — and UConn Huskies fan — reportedly didn't properly save his final selection for a national champion in Warren Buffett's Quicken Loans Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge. He had the right match-up — Connecticut vs. Kentucky — and in his heart and mind he knew his pick.

But for some reason, Johnson explains in a video posted on YouTube, his winning selection did not register on the website. [You can check out his bracket here.]

Now his friends and supporters are hoping to help Johnson get his big payout. They have started a petition on change.org, in an effort to get Quicken to hook him up with the cash. More than 450 people had signed it at the time of this writing, and they're spreading the word on social media using the hashtag #PayCoreyJohnson.

yeah and the next huge lottery jackpot the winning numbers will be those he always plays but someone must have stolen his ticket

What are the odds I submitted the wrong bracket having Arizona win it all instead of the UCONN one? About the same as winning the lottery with the numbers never even played. Its the new thing to do, if you don't like what you hear take to social media. I am sure a lawyer will join in provided he gets like 30K in fees.

This just in, I'll be wining the lotto tomorrow night, because whatever the numbers are, I'm sure I asked for them and was given the wrong ones.

although a few comments are a bit harsh, as I was taught as a kid "almost" only counts in horseshoes= You almost won $100K
