Cindy Adamski

Although Naugatuck High School didn’t have varsity sports in the 1960s, Cindy Adamski took advantage of every opportunity and “played every intramural sport that was offered.”

That included volleyball, basketball, badminton and others. She also was on the pep club for four years and was president during her senior year.

But Adamski showed that she could compete against top competition as she went on to play softball, volleyball and track and field at Southern Connecticut State University.

Following her playing career, Adamski went on to coaching, where she has succeeded for more than 40 years. She coached travel softball in Naugatuck in 1972 and in the following year, started coaching at Brookfield High School, which she does to this day. In that time, the softball and field hockey teams that she has coached have won a combined 356 games and nine league titles.

Adamski also referees high school and college women’s basketball, which she started in 1968. From 1975 to 1984, she was the basketball officials assignment coordinator for Connecticut and Rhode Island.
