Naugy Pop Warner Cheerleaders Are State Champs

The teams now move on to regional and national competitions.

The Naugatuck Pop Warner Cheerleaders had two teams win state championships and another two finish second in their divisions recently.

The local Pop Warner groups had six teams perform at the competition. The two youngest teams, Tiny Mites (5-7 year olds), and Mitey Mites (7-9 year olds), performed for exhibition reasons only and did not compete.

The Junior Pee Wees (8-11 year olds) and Pee Wees (9-12 year olds) both placed second in their divisions.  The Junior Midget (10-13 year olds) and Midget (11-15 year olds) teams both came in first in their divisions.

The four competitive teams will be competing for the opportunity to advance to Regional Quaifiers in Springfield, Mass., on November 4. The top teams at Qualifiers then move on to the Regional Championships on November 10, also in Springfield. The top two teams from each division then move on to Nationals in Walt Disney World. Naugatuck has sent a cheer team to Nationals for the last two years.

Congrats to the teams!
