Horns blared, sirens rang out and people began screaming with joy. It was the scene Wednesday night at Naugatuck High School after the boys soccer team got off the bus with its Naugatuck Valley League championship trophy in hand.
The boys soccer team capped an undefeated season with a 4-1 win over Torrington for the NVL crown.
The girls team nearly made it a duel NVL title year in Naugatuck. They fell just short, losing to Watertown on penalty kicks Wednesday. Those who gathered at NHS to meet the busses Wednesday night also celebrated their phenomenal regular season.
