Barnum Pub Fest in Bridgeport

Friday p.m.

The Barnum Pub Fest comes to Bridgeport on Friday as part of the Barnum Festival. The Festival is a celebration of people and “communities united” in the downtown area.

Swimmers of all ages and skill levels are invited to join in the swim, with proceeds going to Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy.All swimmers raise money to support the cause, and those who feel particularly motivated to raise even more, can register as WaveMaker Swimmers.

June Benefit Horse Show at Fairfields County Hunt Club

Friday and Saturday

The only national horse show that is open to the public free of charge. Boutique shopping, special events such as a pet parade and food concessions are also featured on the grounds. The show features more than 250 classes of competition. Money raised is donated to various equine charities.

Great Duck Race in Westport

Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

3,000 yellow rubber ducks will race for $10,000 in prizes on the Saugatuck River at Jesup Green. Raffle tickets are available.

Outdoor movie in New Canaan

Saturday, 8 p.m.

“Air Bud – World Pup” will be screened on three big TVs in the Pop Up Park, at the corner of Elm Street and South Avenue. Drivers can enjoy a drive-in movie theater experience.

Yoga at B*Hive in Bridgeport

Sunday 10 a.m.

$5 suggested donation. Bring your own mat. Lead by Katharine Marino of YogaKat Fitness.

Summer solstice in New Milford

Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The John J. McCarthy Observatory will offer attendees the opportunity to safely look at the sun through a solar telescope.

'Hooked for Heroes' in Stamford

Saturday, from 6 a.m.

The third annual fishing tournament at the Halloween Yatch Club in Stamford. Proceeds of the benefit event will go towards Operation Gift Cards, which help wounded military service  personnel receiving treatment at Walter Reed Army Hospital.

Milford farmers market

Saturday from 9 a.m.

The downtown Milford farmers market will be open at 58 River St. on Saturday’s from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market takes place every Saturday through October 11.

Danbury Museum & Historical Society Garden Party

Saturday, from 1 p.m.

The Friends of The Danbury Museum & Historical Society will host their 3rd Annual Garden Party Fundraiser on Saturday. Enjoy food, refreshments and a guided tour while strolling this beautiful location.

The Midsummer Fantasy Renaissance Faire 

Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Spend the day seeing live shows, combat, a thrilling storyline, over 50 handcrafted and unique artisans and delicious food. Patrons are encouraged (though not required) to dress up.

Zerbini Family Circus in New Canaan

Saturday, 1:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m.

The Zerbini Family Circus returns to Saxe Middle School. Kick off summer with aerialists, clowns, acrobats, jugglers, camel rides, food and fun for the entire family. All proceeds from the event benefit youth programming in New Canaan

BBQ Fest at Mohegan Sun

Across the weekend.

Promising the nation's best barbecue with fun including a team BBQ competition, beer trailer, live music plus an extraordinary fireworks display. Fun for all the family. Tickets now on sale.

Pet wellness clinic in Stamford

Sunday, from 12 p.m.

STARelief in partnership with VCA Davis Animal Hospital is hosting a FREE rabies vaccine and micropchip clinic for dogs and cat.

'Hairspray' opens in New Canaan

Saturday, 8 p.m.

The hit musical "Hairspray" is being produced by the Summer Theatre of New Canaan, starting Saturday. It will run through August 3.
