Sao Paio Festival This Weekend in Naugatuck
A road race, dancing and plenty of food at this year's Sao Paio festival.
The 2013 Sao Paio festival takes place in Naugatuck this weekend and below you will find a schedule of all the events visitors can look forward to:
Friday, August 30th
- 10:00 AM-Opening Ceremonies-Mayor of the Day presentation - Naugatuck Town Hall
- 6:00 PM SPIN Soccer tournament
- 7:30 PM to 11:30pm - Family Night - Dancing with music provided by CNT Entertainment from Connecticut
Saturday, August 31st

- 8:00 AM Registration for Sao Paio 5K Road Race at Portuguese Club, 110 Rubber Avenue, Naugatuck
- 8:00 AM SPIN Soccer Tournament kick off
- 9:00 AM Sao Paio 5K Road Race starting on Elm Street (next to Auto Zone)
- 6:00 PM Sao Paio Parade- Departing from the Naugatuck Historical Society Building-195 Water Street, Naugatuck. Prizes will be awarded for best Portuguese costume
- 7:00 PM Folklore dancing exhibition at club grounds. Appearances by several New England dance groups.
- 9:00 PM Dancing with music provided by Intensity from Connecticut
Sunday, September 1st
- 8:00 AM SPIN Soccer Tournament
- 11:30 AM-Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, on Baldwin Street in Waterbury, CT
- 12 Noon -Lunch (“Almoco de Dobrado”) will be served at the Portuguese Club, Naugatuck, CT
- 6:00 PM-10:00pm - Dancing with music provided by CNT Entertainment from Connecticut
